Milestone No. 3

Milestone No. 3 is a documentary following three lifelong friends as they travel across the country to California for the very first time. Armed with doubts and anxiety about continuing his filmmaking career, director Nicholas Dapolito enlists the help of friends and family to examine why he creates, and if this path is truly right for him.

This film marked many first for me. As I said, it was first time I had ever gone across the country (USA), but it was also the first time I attempted to make a "feature-length" documentary. This film was also my first attempt to tell a more personal story: mine.

As was the case with 'Milestone No. 2,' the feeling of this film lends itself more to a VLOG than it does a documentary, but I like that about it. To me, feels like an authentic account of our trip to California.

I'm never truly satisfied with my projects, but 'Milestone No. 3' was the first time I ever sat and said, "it's done." It still isn't perfect (far from it), but for the skills and technology (and resources) of my time, I think it turned out alright.
